ÜBER MEINE KUNST| ABOUT MY ART

Was treibt mich an – Dekontextualisierung

"I have no favourite material; anything can be used to create beauty if handled well."

[Alexander Girard]

What is my intention - Decontextualization

"I have no favourite material; anything can be used to create beauty if handled well."
[Alexander Girard]

The desire to rip everyday profane things out of their original context and give them a completely new purpose, to lift them experimentally into an art form, to reinterpret classical techniques such as high and low pressure and of course the love for serial and concrete art.

In doing so, I feel the need to break through classical rules. Of course, the individual objects in these works are not loosely placed, but are connected to each other by conceptual rules - each cycle created in this way always has a beginning, an end - a harmonic sequence.
Each object stands for itself. Often they seem to resemble each other, but on closer inspection they reveal their individuality. My works can thus be understood as a whole as well as in each individual object.
I love order, love structure and the possibility to break the apparent parable with all the facets at my disposal to make the work unique

In my latest - ceramic monochrome - works I create an antipole to the current rush of colours, the (digital) flood of images. I want to give the viewer the opportunity to escape this sensory overload for a moment in order to then experience the power, fascination and beauty of structured/geometric forms.

"Appreciate the mundane, the ordinary. Find beauty in things of everyday life and

admire what can come about through care and creativity".
